The Animal Trough is a building in FarmVille. It was gifted to players upon its introduction on October 27, 2010.
The building costs 5,000 coins to build. It awards 50 XP upon completion. The building can be resold for 250 coins.
As a functional building of the game, the Animal Trough is used to collect Animal Feed. Once 20 scoops of feed have been collected and added to the building, an animal will stop by within 23 hours. If you notice the visitor in time, it will be yours to keep. If not, it will leave, and eat 2 scoops of feed.
