According to TechCrunch, Google has recently invested a significant sum of money into Zynga, allegedly between $100 million and $200 million. Coming off the back of this news, a tweet came from Digg founder Kevin Rose in late June stating that Google was set to launch a Facebook competitor entitled “Google Me“.
Combining both of these rumors, several sites are now speculating that Zynga will become a partner for this new Google project, and could even become the foundation of a much larger Google Games section. If these rumors are true, could this mean that FarmVille will soon disappear from Facebook? Truth be told, we’d find it unlikely. More likely, however, would be to find existing Zynga games being continued onto Google Me (including some exclusive items, perhaps?), as well as some new games popping up on the network. All in all, this may mean good things for those wishing for a FarmVille app on Android-based smartphones.

The FarmVille team has set up a little survey to try and improve them game. From personal experience, I can say that they really do listen to feedback (especially when it’s solicited). As such, we encourage everyone to voice their opinions with the survey. Rest assured, you will be heard!

P.S. Remember that expansions are coming. Granted, we’ve only had confirmation of the 26×26, and even that seems like it’ll be too little too late, but still… I’m sure Zynga’s tired of hearing the moaning for expansions by now.
This morning saw the release of the official FarmVille iPhone app for FREE! You can manage your farm, collect and send gifts, and even post animal adoption notices all from within the app. And as the app is free, Zynga likely missed a huge revenue possibility there, but users will no doubt appreciate the ease of access.
The app runs without Flash, but sadly retains the lag. (Actually, it can be slower than the game is, depending on your hardware and internet connection.) Still, it can be perfect for farming on the go. One of the greatest new features is that, to plow/plant/harvest with a machine, you can simply tap one plot and then drag your finger across all of the other plots you want to do that action to, as well.
We don’t have an iPhone ourselves, but we’d love to hear your discoveries with the new app!
Several blogs reporting live from Apple’s WWDC 2010 Keynote have just seen FarmVille being demonstrated live on the iPhone!

Apparently there are push notifications for withering crops, and Zynga CEO Mark Pincus claims that using vehicles on the iPhone is “just cooler”. The FarmVille app will allegedly interface with the iPhone, bringing its social interactions to new heights. The app is due to debut by the end of the month, although it is more likely due out next week, in time for the game’s one-year anniversary.
And, hilariously enough, there was a snow leopard on the display farm – apparently an iPhone exclusive!
